I arrived in Ypres, Belgium on the 29th July. On the 28th, at Poperinge,
I met Harry Patch. What a proud moment that was. The ceremony under The Menin Gate on the 29th was amazing. I layed a wreath at Tyne Cot cemetery, Passchendaele on the 31st July during a piper led ceremony, the only ceremony at Tyne Cot on the official anniversary. A proud moment.
Thanks to the four people who donated money during my journey, Tony & Eve,Blackheath, Linda Jackson,Kent and Grace Pye,Kent. I am waiting to receive more and will forward it all to The CWGC and children's hospice during the next fortnight.
